Best Towns to Visit in Granada Province (Not Including the Alpujarras)

Granada province stretches from the coast - Costa Tropical  to the north and borders with Spain's largest Natural Park (which is in the neighbouring province of Jaen) Parque Natural de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas. Cazorla Town and National Park Within its boundaries lie the ski slopes of Sierra Nevada and the highest peak on mainland Spain, Mulhacen. Its diverse, beautiful, wild and yet a garden of paradise where tropical fruits grow. Fiesta de la Aceituna, Martos

For this year´s Fiesta de la Aceituna, the 42nd edition, eight of the town´s restaurants have prepared special menus based on local Extra Virgin Olive Oil with the aim of showcasing the health benefits of olive oil and its use in cooking.

The restaurants that are taking part in the initiative are:

Bellavista  - Calle Cerrillo

Nuevo Pinar - Parque Manuel Carrasco

La Noria 2019 - Calle Río Ebro

Asador Capiscol - Calle Los Charcones 

La Consentida - corner of Pierre Cibié and Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente

El Teatro - Parque Manuel Carrasco 

Hotel Ciudad de Martos - Calle Molino Medel

La Lola Taberna Atípica - Avenida Pierre Cibié



The Fiesta de la Aceituna has taken place since 1981 and serves to celebrate the work of everyone who has cultivated olive trees and remember the generations of labourers.

The special menus prepared by each restaurant will be available from 2nd  to 11th December and will include an olive oil tasting, tasting, first course, main course and dessert.  

There is also a competition open to all with two categories; the first is for seasoned olives, which must be the Cornezuelo variety, and the second is for tapas made with extra virgin olive oil.
