Best Towns to Visit in Granada Province (Not Including the Alpujarras)

Granada province stretches from the coast - Costa Tropical  to the north and borders with Spain's largest Natural Park (which is in the neighbouring province of Jaen) Parque Natural de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas. Cazorla Town and National Park Within its boundaries lie the ski slopes of Sierra Nevada and the highest peak on mainland Spain, Mulhacen. Its diverse, beautiful, wild and yet a garden of paradise where tropical fruits grow. I'm going to share with you a couple of my favourite 'best towns to visit' in Granada Province, which don't include the villages of the Alpujarras - that's another day, another post and another holiday, so huge is Granada! Picturesque Castril Almost as far north as you can get while staying in Granada province is the fabulous town of Castril.  A mountain town with an abundance of water creating a small, yet fast flowing river with tumbling waterfalls. About Me

Hi, thank you for checking me out. I'm  Rachel Webb, Travel Writer, Spanish Boutique Hotel Lover, pre-published Picture Book writer, contributor to Lonely Planet´s new Andalucia Guide and Blogger.

On the Caminito del Rey

I moved from the UK to Jaen, Andalucia in 1996 with my husband and two sons, now three sons, one granddaughter, websites, blogs, chickens, two dogs and a cat later, my adopted home still enthrals me.

I never tire of the endless scenery, the sea of olive groves, the multi-coloured sunsets, chattering birds, white towns scattered through mountains and valleys and of course the friendly people. This is a home I can´t imagine leaving. Exploring yes, late gap-year world travel yes, but to find more peace, more space, less stress than rural Andalucia, no.

Between home, working as an estate agent, writing and gardening, exploring often takes the back seat, especially in the summer heat. My home is in the Sierra Sur de Jaen, the most northerly of the eight provinces. My hope with this blog is to share many moments of living in and exploring Andalucia with you.

I´m as happy in a motorhome as in 5* star accommodation, I love to drive but am happy to be driven, I love to explore by myself or with others, whatever, however, I just love mooching around this incredible country of Spain and beyond.

Paid posts and fam trips are sometimes accepted (and stated as such) and I love to do reviews. My Luxury Spain Travel blog also gets the benefit of my explorations and writings. My Press Kit is over on Luxury Spain. Or you can read my latest article on this blog's Other Writings page.
