Street Carpet for Corpus Christi

Hubby and I were sat outside the lovely Hospederia de Querencia in Bujalance when a 4x4 with trailer stopped and sacks started to be unloaded at the same time as a red sand/pellet looking substance raked out onto the road we were intrigued.

After a tour of the hotel we found out exactly what was happening - a carpet for the Corpus Christi procession.

The red ´sand´ was actually dyed sawdust, the white, blue, yellow and pink, salt and the green was grass. A work of art with hours of preparation from many hands then to be trampled on by many feet.
