Love-locked in Malaga
A while ago I saw a photo (can´t remember where) of workmen in Sevilla removing padlocks from a bridge. Supposedly representing a ´forever´ love couples inscribed their names on a padlock and attached it to the bridge railings. I wondered why they had to be removed. Maybe too much weight?
On a recent visit to Malaga I crossed a bridge and noticed padlocks. The dates on some of them suggested that removal wasn´t a regular thing here.
Is this the modern version of carving a heart with names on a tree?
