Beja is the capital of Baixo Alentejo which the lower part of the Alentejo region, not far from the Spanish border. Monday Morning Photo - Balcony View from Baños de la Encina

With the majestic Castillo de Baños de la Encina (also known as the Castillo de Burgalimar)  behind it´s easy to see why it was built here. The vast plains stretch into the horizon. Today we see marching rows of olive trees rather than the enemy approaching.
