Andalusia or Andalucía?

The autonomous region of Andalusia (Andalucía in Spanish) is in the southern part of Spain. It spans from Atlantic coast in the west to the sheltered coast of the Mediterranean Sea in the east and from Málaga's Costa del Sol to the borders of Castilla – La Mancha the famous flat lands and Don Quixote windmill country.  With an average of 300 plus days of sunshine a year the coastal area is an all year round destination. Not so in the inland provinces of Cordoba, Jaen and Sevilla which ha ve baking hot summers that can reach +40c and cold winters which can be 0c or less overnight. The Best Estate Agents in Andalucia, My New Beginnings

I've done a few different jobs in my time but non have excited me as much as this new challenge. With age gallivanting along and some inheritance money I'm taking on a franchise with what I consider to be the best estate agents in my area. As you can imagine over the years I've heard some stories of appalling treatment by estate agents. Only this week a lovely couple in their 70s have been faced with a large tax bill because their estate agent, and their lawyer come to that, didn't as promised put everything into their name.

But off I go on a ramble again. Over the years I've helped quite a few people who my husband did work for, many of whom have become friends, sell or even buy a house. I do rather love looking at houses and rearranging them in my head. I think both hubby and I would say the period of time we most enjoyed in our twenty-three years here was the renovating of our holiday home Casa El Reguelo, which is by the way on the market because of our new venture. Fancy a glance? Cortijo for sale in the Sierra Sur de Jaen. So seeing houses and meeting people is calling me, but I'll also be found behind the desk in our bright yellow and blue office.

I'll be more or less hanging up my teacher's hat, my sporadic blogging hat will remain, although between painting the new office and the holiday home being busy there have been few and far between trips lately, except to England where the weather was crazy! My new venture is with Inland Andalucia and the new office will open mid-September in Martos. Read my latest B-C-ing-U article for my gripe on getting anything done in August!

I now write a fortnightly article about my life in Spain on B-C-ing-U, probably at the expense of my own blogs if you want to follow me there - Rachel's Ramblings. Or come back here to follow my new life's new life.
