The Wild Asparagus Hunters are Out and About

It´s that time of year. Cars parked in odd places, the solitary person - usually a man, popping up above a bank or from behind an olive tree. The hunters of the wild aparagus are here. The plentiful rain scattered with a day or two of sunshine has brought them out in droves. Some have their route, others instinctively know where to go. Monday Morning Photo - Frailes, Jaen, Traditional Crafts & Wine

You never know what's around the corner! On a visit to the tiny town of Frailes in the Sierra Sur de Jaen about an hour from my holiday rental home Casa Rural El Reguelo and home to a great winery and cheese factory, one of the old village characters had his wares laid out for sale. Some exquisitely and intricately made esparto-grass items. Such skill, I hope he's passed it on.

He then proceded to take out some murky looking bottles, plastic cups and offered us some of his surprising and extremely drinkable home-made wine. I love where I live.

I went to Frailes Gastronomy Fair with some fellow Andalucia Travel Bloggers - Read the post Gastronomy & Wine in Frailes
