Monday Morning Photo - Wisteria Time in Andalucia

How quickly spring comes around after the short winter here in the Sierra Sur de Jaén. After lots of very much needed rain we´re back to the normal cloudless blue.  My garden is shooting incredbily with the moisture and now sunshine. And my beautiful wisteria flowers grandly albeit it short-lived. The big black carpenter bees love it. Each flowering season reminds me of the Botanical Gardens in Malaga and the ´tunnel´ of wisteria that I haven´t yet caught in bloom. April is a good time to plan to go if it´s on your list.  Here´s the botanical garden link La Concepción Botanical Gardens. And a sneaky peak at the wisteria. See the Monday Morning Photos list.

Caves Houses in Guadix, Cuevas de Rolando

For a great rustic stay in caves visit Cuevas de Rolando on the edge of Guadix town. A lovely little complex of eight caves for rent or bed and breakfast in a cave.

Cuevas de Rolando, Caves to rent

With a heated outdoor pool, plenty of parking, great views and a friendly welcome Cuevas de Rolando make a great base to explore Guadix and the Altiplano area of Granada province.

Cuevas de Rolando, Caves holidays, Guadix

I stayed here on 05/09/2011 and thoroughly enjoyed the stay and around. Guadix had far more on offer than caves, though the cave districts were fascinating and the Casa-cueva museum in the town absolutely brilliant.

A very pleasant and quiet stay out of high season.

For more on Cuevas de Rolando see their website, unfortunately it´s only in Spanish, if you have any difficulty, leave me a comment and I´ll translate or help if I can.
